Managing Director of Resilience & Growth

Nicole Chao is a managing director at ACDI/VOCA, where she provides project management oversight for projects focused on livelihoods, employability, food security, and community development in Colombia. She is a founding member of Fundación ACDI/VOCA Latin America, based in Bogotá, Colombia. Since joining ACDI/VOCA in 2008, Nicole has implemented projects and pursued new business opportunities with USAID, the United States Department of Agriculture, the World Bank, local governments, and corporate donors and foundations in 10 countries. She has 15 years of experience in international development. Nicole holds a BA in philosophy, politics, and economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in international development studies from George Washington University. She also holds a certificate from the American Express Leadership Academy at Thunderbird School of Global Management. She is fluent in English and Spanish and has a working knowledge of Portuguese. She received an ACDI/VOCA Presidential Award in 2021.
