In 2016 and 2017, AflaSTOP conducted market research to explore the feasibility of upscaling the EasyDryM500, a portable maize dryer developed by AflaSTOP, to Uganda (as compared to Kenya, where the bulk of AflaSTOP’s R&D and commercialization pilots took place). This report summarizes the key findings from that effort. It presents findings related to part sourcing, fabrication and cost; market demand for drying services; and the cost of the drying service itself.
