Senior Director, Communications & Outreach

As senior director of communications, Meg Weaver enhances ACDI/VOCA’s public image through strategic communications across a variety of media. In this role, she manages corporate web and social media platforms and facilitates collaboration among Home Office and project staff. She first joined the organization in 2015-2017 and rejoined in 2018. Prior to ACDI/VOCA, Meg served briefly in the Peace Corps in Uzbekistan, taught Spanish, worked at the National Geographic Society, and provided contract communications services for development organizations WaterAid America, the Pan American Development Foundation, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, and the Committee on Sustainability Assessment.

She holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in Spanish and anthropology and an MA in international development and anthropology from the George Washington University. Meg speaks Spanish and holds certificates in digital marketing, remote team leadership, and diversity & inclusion from eCornell and in research from the National Geographic Society. In 2021, she received an ACDI/VOCA Presidential Award for her digital communications leadership. In addition to serving as communications coordinator and secretary for ACDI/VOCA’s AdVocate (DEI) staff advocacy group, she also provides strategic communications support to the Coalition for Racial & Ethnic Equity in Development (CREED), of which ACDI/VOCA is a Core Team Member and Pledge Signatory.
