Senior Director of Resilience & Growth
Kavita Chambery is senior project director of our $118M Leader with Associate Award portfolio which includes the Leader Award and 6 associate awards in Kenya, Uganda, and Somalia. The projects focus on strengthening livestock market systems in Northern Kenya, resilience learning in Somalia and Uganda, and development and implementation of an innovative impact investment fund focusing on expanding access to finance. In this role, she supervises the COPs and supports the field teams on technical and operational activities implemented by project staff. Since joining ACDI/VOCA in 2013, she has managed a varied portfolio of projects in Sierra Leone, Kenya, Bangladesh, and East Timor for donors such as USAID, Feed the Future, USAID’s Office of Food for Peace, the United Stated Department of Agriculture, and the International Finance Corporation. She has previously managed international development projects at Chemonics International and DAI Global. She holds a BA in integrated international studies from Knox College and an MA in international peace and conflict resolution from American University and is fluent in English, Spanish, Hindi, Marathi, and Gujarati. She was also a 2005 Presidential Management Fellow.
