Senior Director of Food Security & Agriculture, Resilience & Growth
JoEllen McGann is a senior director of food security and agriculture who manages a portfolio of projects, develops new business opportunities, and contributes to our technical approach to resilience and food security. She has led three project startups and four project closeouts and co-designed a rapid resilience tool to help ACDI/VOCA gain information on how shocks and stresses affect household wellbeing. Since joining ACDI/VOCA in 2015, she has contributed to or led six proposal efforts. From 1996 to 2015, JoEllen managed programs in Benin, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Mali, and Rwanda for Catholic Relief Services, the International Rescue Committee, Partners for Development, and the International Foundation for Education and Self-Help. She holds a BA in international studies and an MA in international development from George Washington University as well as an MBA in international management from the University of London. JoEllen also holds a certificate in French from the Universite de Neuchatel, Neuchatel (Switzerland) and is fluent in French and English. She received the Presidential Award from ACDI/VOCA in 2018 for her role in securing the Victory Against Malnutrition Plus Project in Burkina Faso.
