Technical Director of Agriculture Systems
Ivan Landers provides technical direction and support to existing projects and new business development efforts related to agriculture systems. As a technical director, he lends practical expertise in agricultural production, extension, and agribusiness development with a focus on climate-smart adaptations and agro-ecological approaches. Prior to joining ACDI/VOCA in 2020, Ivan worked broadly in East and West Africa as well as Latin America. He began his career in the Peace Corps in Paraguay and carried on working with smallholder producers in various capacities to implement agricultural research, extension programs, social enterprise development, and digital interventions. Ivan holds an MA from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland) and an MS in Agricultural Sciences in the Tropics and Subtropics from the University of Hohenheim (Germany). Ivan has also completed the Evaluating Social Programs course through the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL Uganda). He is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Guaraní.
