Chief of Party of Feed the Future Bangladesh Rice and Diversified Crops Activity
Cuan Opperman is the chief of party of our Feed the Future Bangladesh Rice and Diversified Crops Activity, supported by USAID, and provides program management and technical direction to staff in Dhaka, Jessore, and Barishal. With this market systems program, Cuan has refined its activities to induce systemic changes in various market systems, focusing on rice and other crops. He has 32 years of experience in private sector development in 26 countries. Prior to joining ACDI/VOCA in 2018, Cuan led the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID) Malawi Oilseed Sector Transformation program. This program received an A++ rating upon closeout, putting it in the top 2 percent of all DFID-funded programs. He holds an LLB from the University of Port Elizabeth (South Africa) and is fluent in English and Afrikaans.
