VOCA is selected to implement the pilot USAID Farmer-to-Farmer program, assigning 30 volunteers to advise farmers’ associations, farmer cooperatives and other small organizations in 10 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Farmer-to-Farmer was initially authorized by Congress in the 1985 Farm Bill and now operates in 20 countries worldwide. ACDI/VOCA has implemented more Farmer-to-Farmer assignments than any other organization.
