Show de Barismo, Miraflores, Lima, Peru (en Espaņol)
A video from a barista expo in Miraflores, Peru, that was made possible with support from ACDI/VOCA's USAID-funded Strengthening the Coffee Value Chain program.
Over 50 percent of Peru's population lives below the national poverty line, according to the World Bank. ACDI/VOCA knows from experience that specialty coffee markets offer economic opportunities for coffee farmers living in developing countries to increase their incomes and live better lives. Higher quality coffees fetch higher prices in the global markets, and farmers are able to differentiate their product through origin and flavor.
Around the world, ACDI/VOCA's team works with partners throughout the coffee value chain to address constraints and connect smallholders to elite markets. In Peru, ACDI/VOCA will work to address the major weaknesses in the country's coffee value chain that prevent the country and its smallholder farmers from reaching their full potential.
