News Release: ACDI/VOCA Welcomes New Board Member, Mulcahey of CHS


WASHINGTON, D.C., January 13, 2012—International economic development organization ACDI/VOCA today welcomes its newest board member, Michael Mulcahey, representing CHS, Inc. Mulcahey replaces Richard Owen of Montana who resigned last month.


“It is a pleasure to welcome Mr. Mulcahey to the ACDI/VOCA board of directors,” says Carl Leonard, ACDI/VOCA president. “A crucial part of our success in international development is expanding economic opportunities by taking the success of U.S. farmer organizations to overseas clients.


“Mike’s experience with cooperative organizations expands our network and reinforces our commitment to local solutions to empower people worldwide.”


Mulcahey serves on the CHS board and its capital and government relations committees. CHS is a Fortune 200 agribusiness owned by farmers, ranchers, cooperatives and other U.S. stockholders. It traces its membership in ACDI/VOCA to 1973.


Mulcahey farms in a family partnership near Waseca, Minn., that raises corn and soybeans, finishes beef cattle and offers custom farming and combining services. He attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, and the University of Minnesota, Waseca. He has completed the National Association of Corporate Directors comprehensive director professionalism course and been awarded its certificate of director education.
