Egyptian Farmers Collaborate with Volunteer Expert to Construct Community Greenhouse
Egyptian farming families are right now building a greenhouse for the Wadi Nukra community with ACDI/VOCA volunteer Dr. Dave Adams of Oregon providing technical expertise.
This greenhouse and subsequent training on its use and maintenance is the culmination of the “Plant the Seed of Technology” campaign, which is funded through donations to the VOCA Fund from the ACDI/VOCA community.

Wadi Nukra is located in a remote and impoverished area of Upper Egypt where there is little productive infrastructure. This gift of technology and specialized training will help local farming families to grow more food and earn more money in a sustainable way.
“A hearty thank-you to everyone who generously contributed to this campaign and helped to make this happen,” said Diana Roach, senior director of volunteer programs.
If David Adams’s name sounds familiar it’s probably because he is a veteran ACDI/VOCA volunteer who has completed over 40 volunteer assignments in the past 20 years.
