Bai Tushum Helps Set Up Revival Fund for Kyrgyzstan Riot Victims

In the wake of recent riots in Kyrgyzstan, an ACDI/VOCA legacy organization, Bai Tushum, has partnered with Mol Bulak Finance and the law firm Kalikova & Associates to set up a nonprofit called the Revival Foundation to assist victims of the violence.

The foundation will serve people and businesses in the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan with financial aid and interest free loans to help them rebuild their lives.

Kyrgyzstan is one of the most progressive former Soviet states in terms of market reforms. In recent years, ACDI/VOCA has worked with many individuals and organizations to establish credit institutions like Bai Tushum and other necessary improvements to make credit more available to small-scale farmers and other rural businesses, which are at the heart of Kyrgyzstan’s economy.
