Since Michael Porter first popularized the concept of value chains in 1985, it has become a powerful tool to understand the development process, create wealth in poor communities and promote equitable economic growth. "Meeting the Challenges of Value Chain Development" is a two-day event convening donor, practitioner and research communities to disseminate significant value chain learning and discuss development's most pressing issues.

Value Chain Approach
