Lindsey Jones

Global Gender Advisor


Ms. Lindsey Jones is ACDI/VOCA’s global gender advisor and head of the Gender Integration and Women’s Empowerment unit. She has managed, led or participated in eight gender analyses and assessments for international food security, agricultural development and community development programs in the Middle East, Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. In her current role she leads ACDI/VOCA in mainstreaming gender throughout programs and operations and advising staff on gender strategies. Ms. Jones is also experienced in research methodologies and data quality standards, particularly in leading data quality assessments, designing survey questionnaires, analyzing data and training. Ms. Jones directed the database and reporting department for ACDI/VOCA in Iraq on the Community Action Program, overseeing the design and implementation of the program’s comprehensive database. She has also worked in the Philippines, East Timor, Jordan and the West Bank, where she was a consultant with a refugee organization that serviced youth and women in health, education, income generation, sports and civic education. She earned her M.A. in Arab studies with a concentration in women and gender studies, and is completing a graduate certificate from the George Washington University in survey design and data analysis. She received her B.A. in international studies from Meredith College in North Carolina. Ms. Jones is a native English speaker and is also proficient in written and spoken Arabic.
