Alex Rotich
Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Africa
Alex Rotich is a social scientist with more than eight years of experience in international development. As ACDI/VOCA’s regional monitoring and evaluation specialist for Africa, Mr. Rotich works to strengthen organizational and staff capacities by providing supportive mentoring and coaching for project staff and key partners. He works with staff to develop data quality assessments and audits, and conducts internal audits of project monitoring and evaluation systems. Mr. Rotich leads field efforts in developing data quality standards, operating procedures, and reporting and learning systems. Previous to his work with ACDI/VOCA, he conducted research and monitoring and evaluation tasks on a variety of programs including water and sanitation, education, child development, health, HIV/AIDS, governance and peace building. He has worked in Kenya, Sudan and Uganda with organizations such as Compassion International, Save the Children-Sweden, African Population Advisory Council, Aga Khan Foundation and Pact, Inc. He earned a master’s in anthropology as well as a post-graduate diploma in project planning and management from the University of Nairobi.
