Ana T. Gonzalez

Program Director, Community Self-help Fund in Nicaragua


Ana Gonzalez is a highly skilled international development professional with extensive experience in finance, negotiations, market development, program management, disaster prevention and government procurement reforms. Ms. Gonzalez currently serves as ACDI/VOCA’s program director for the USAID-funded Community Self-help Fund in Nicaragua. The project’s goal is to improve the basic economic and social conditions of local communities by supporting ongoing community projects through a matching grants program. Before joining ACDI/VOCA, Ms. Gonzalez worked as the national program officer at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, where she oversaw programs improving sustainable agricultural development and rural development. Other experience includes working as an advisor for the Nicaraguan Ministry of Economics and working on the UNDP’s planning and project development in Nicaragua. She earned an M.B.A. at Northwestern University, an M.S. in health services administration from Nova University in Florida, a B.S. in business administration from Louisiana State University and an A.B. in computer programming from Louisiana State University. Ms. Gonzalez also earned a certificate in marketing and negotiation of contracts from Duke University. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
