Amelia Moro
Program Director, USAID-funded Paraguay Cooperative Development Program II
Amelia Moro is an international development specialist with over 10 years of experience working to increase rural livelihoods in Paraguay. She currently serves as program director for the USAID-funded Paraguay Cooperative Development Program II, which works with farmers and cooperatives to increase their incomes by connecting them with expert technical assistance. In this capacity she manages the program’s implementation and also leads its gender strategy to enhance women's leadership and decision-making roles in rural cooperatives. Before joining ACDI/VOCA, Ms. Moro worked for several other international organizations, including the Inter-American Development Bank and the Organization of American States. She earned her law degree from the Universidad Nacional de Asuncion in Paraguay. She also completed an internship in the United States at a human rights and family violence prevention nonprofit, where she worked with women, children and families struggling with relationship violence, substance abuse and mental health issues. She is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English and Guarani.
