Opportunity Knocks 2010 awardThe people have chosen, and ACDI/VOCA is one of the top 15 nonprofits nationwide to work for, according to Opportunity Knocks' 4th annual People's Choice awards.

"ACDI/VOCA is one of the best nonprofits to work for," says employee Sharon Ball, who submitted the winning essay. "We are a premier nongovernmental organization with an excellent reputation in international development. This gives one a great feeling of pride and satisfaction."

Opportunity Knocks selects the winners from nominations held Oct. 12, 2010, through Dec. 15, 2010, based on employee submissions of a brief essay on why they consider their organization a great place to work.

"Not only are we respected in our field, ACDI/VOCA takes care of its employees with competitive salaries and benefit packages," says Ball, citing staff development programs like e-Cornell University certificate learning, tuition reimbursement and many other opportunities.

"This investment promises return in exceptional quality employees with our mission being our ultimate goal," Ball adds.

A total of 15 winners received the 2010 awards based on three categories of operating budget size.
