New Project Won–Indonesia: SUCCESS Alliance Cocoa Program
On August 1 the USDA Foreign Agriculture Service approved the reprogramming of approximately $900,000 for ACDI/VOCA to support business development services to the smallholder cocoa sector in Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The one-year, USDA-funded 416(B) SUCCESS Alliance – Business Service Provider (BSP) Capacity Building project will increase access to and improve the quality of business and technical services available to cocoa farmers and their organizations’ local business service providers primarily in four provinces in Sulawesi. The project builds upon the technical training and cocoa farmer network that ACDI/VOCA established in Sulawesi’s cocoa subsector over the last five years through its two-year, USDA-funded SUCCESS (Sustainable Cocoa Extension Services for Smallholders) project and the subsequent three-year USAID-funded SUCCESS (Sustainable Enterprise Solutions for Smallholders) Alliance.
