ACDI/VOCA 2008 Photo Contest Winners
ACDI/VOCA-Bolivia is the grand prize winner in our 2008 Annual Photo Contest. The winning photo is of a beneficiary drying cocoa using modern techniques as part of our Integrated Community Development Fund program. The photo contest received 623 submissions—the most ever in its history. The Bolivian office claims the grand prize, a digital camera. There were five runners-up, named below, who each receive a choice of a flash key, a photo printer or a multi-card flash reader. There were also seven honorable mentions.
Submissions had "to show ACDI/VOCA at work," which participants did with shots of volunteer and consultant assignments, headquarter functions and project activities involving community development, economic production, information dissemination, large-scale events, etc. Submissions were received from Bolivia, Colombia, Kenya, the Philippines, Ecuador, Azerbaijan, Rwanda, Uganda, Central Asia, Iraq, Armenia, West Bank/Gaza, Haiti, Vietnam and the U.S.
We thank all participants for making the 2008 Photo Contest a tremendous success. These photos, including some wonderful ones that we didn’t have room to recognize, will powerfully enhance our materials and website for years to come.
