Agribusiness & Agricultural Policy Portfolio Managing Director Gevorg Adamyan is an economic development specialist with 10 years of international experience in project design and management; agribusiness development and economic analysis in emerging markets; business planning; financial management, budgeting and administration and grants management and implementation. As head of the Agribusiness & Agriculture Policy Portfolio, Mr. Adamyan oversees agribusiness programs in Eastern Europe and Asia. He has managed several new business development efforts and designed technical win strategies for proposals. Previous to his current role, he was the planning director for ACDI/VOCA’s $23 million, USAID-funded AgVANTAGE Program in Georgia. In this capacity he prepared feasibility investigations, conducted background research and ensured capacity building of agribusiness operations seeking assistance. Mr. Adamyan designed and implemented a regional agricultural development program and prepared value chain analyses for a range of products with which AgVANTAGE was engaged. His responsibilities included formulating commercial strategies for potential targets of opportunity, devising value chain development strategies and identifying strategic operational and investment partners. Mr. Adamyan has served in short-term assignments in other transitional economies in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Prior to joining ACDI/VOCA, Mr. Adamyan worked in various capacities at the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Peace Corps office in Armenia and the Eurasia Foundation. He holds the equivalent of an M.S. degree in economics from Yerevan State University, in Armenia, and speaks fluent Russian and Armenian.
